Your Focus Defines Your Reality

When we focus on a thing we bring it – and everything that relates to it (past and present) – forward  for attention via our brain’s Reticular Activating System.

These events include such things as our hurts, pains, past losses, past disappointments, griefs, mistakes and suchlike.

However, the good news is that it also includes our previous successes, happinesses, pleasures and moments of wonder and miraculous outcomes.

The secret to many of our everyday outcomes can be found in that word “focus”.

If we focus on our sad history we will be sad in that current moment (even ‘though our thoughts are related to our past).

If we focus on some joyful event from the past we will feel joyful in that re-lived moment, too…..

In other words, our focus defines our reality, moment to moment.

So where and what are you choosing to focus on today?

And how does that make you feel….?

Let’s be honest: we all have a history littered with “bad” moments – but we don’t have to experience their negativity until the end of time!

We can choose instead to either switch our focus onto something which is uplifting OR – an even better option – is to convert the negative into a positive.

And it doesn’t matter how positive we make it…..at the end of the day any ‘positive’ is a great improvement on a negative – and a  wonderful way to improve our often challenging existence.

Here’s two examples (out of several hundred “seeming negatives”) from my own life:

1.      My father couldn’t stand the sight of me.  His intense dislike – for no compelling reason –  was balanced by my belief that my deceased mother truly loved me.
This helped me to understand that we all “judge” one another – so I chose to join my “mother’s team” and start appreciating myself.

2.      A possum attacked my face and damaged my eyes causing me total blindness for six months – so I chose that time of  absolute darkness – instead of being a victim – to refine my psychic abilities for which I needed no eyesight whatsoever.

So what “realities” do you live with which minimise and undervalue your own sense of wonder and specialness?

And what are you still focussing on – silently, quietly, deep within – which is maintaining a negative focus which in one way or another is limiting your self-worth and enjoyment of your achievements and potential – as well as depreciating  your own self- worth…???

Remember – I am always here to help you any way I can!

Blessings and hugs,
