Can you please help ?

Many, many years ago I wished to start my first spiritual retreat.

So I moved onto a property called ‘Gayatri’ and renamed it ‘New Veda’.

I offered weekend retreats and the place was soon buzzing.

Sadly, my partner at the time preferred a real estate agent…..

So, early one morning, without any notice of any kind, a removal van came up the drive and my partner advised me she was moving out…

With her that day went all the furniture and all her personal possessions.

Carpets, cups, grocery items, chairs, tables, beds, fridge….

I watched everything go down the drive…… including my relationship.

I was left alone in an empty building in an empty retreat with just my clothes for company.

I was devastated and in shock.

However, as the morning wore on my mood changed from distress to elation: all the clutter had been removed from my life and I was free!

Free!!

Really free!!!

I visualized a big Om and nothing else cluttering up my lounge room.

I visualized a simple, single bed holding pride of place in my bedroom.

I started to sing “Zippedy Doo Dah!”…….but then panic set in!

Another removal van was coming up the drive!!

I became worried in case she had changed her mind!

This second removals team soon stopped outside my totally empty house.

I stepped outside to advise them everything had gone on the first truck – but there sat three friends, including a lady called Irene.

Big grins spread across their faces.

I was perplexed.

“There’s nothing else to take” I smiled.

“I know” replied Irene. “That’s why we’re here. I knew this day would come and so I’ve been collecting furniture and fittings and storing it in my shed for when the day came. We found out this morning……so here we are!”.

Soon my home was lovingly overflowing once again with ‘things’.

And most importantly, I was overflowing with gratitude for their kindness.

Why do I tell you this story?

Well, Irene now has no home, nothing – all her possessions – uninsured – were destroyed in a fire.

Not so young anymore, she lives in her car and has done so for a couple of years.

But now that is mechanically unsafe and costs too much to repair.

She still helps people.

She offers her time free of charge to charities and is always looking to help others.

Maybe you have a spare older car you could gift her?

Or maybe a little help with money so she can buy another second-hand oldie-but-goodie car she could live in until some accommodation becomes available?

Or maybe even enough money so she can rent a small unit again……?

Every little bit will help this angel who has always helped others, myself included…..

She has a ‘go-fund-me’ page:

Every donation – no matter how small – will help Irene with everyday practical existence.

Thankyou for reading our story.

Have a beautiful, peace-filled week of gentle delights….
