Dear Friend,
Some people have written to tell me they’ve either “stopped praying” or “think prayer is childish”…..
I totally understand.
But I simply suggest that instead of simply discarding prayer or praying childishly to a kind of “Father Xmas” or “King of the Goodies” it’s far more powerful to simply RELATE – intimately and inwardly – to that boundless and eternal Spirit of Love which fills our being every day in any way it can…….
In the spirit of that kind of prayer I invite you to trial another prayer I received from Spirit many years ago….
It’s about the same length as the last one so should take around no more than 60-75 seconds if spoken out loud thoughtfully……
PRAYER OF HUMILITY
Dear God,
Great Spirit of the Universe,
Loving Creator of my body and my soul
I give you grateful thanks for Life Itself.
I give you thanks for giving me Existence
With consciousness, awareness and Love.
I humbly dedicate myself to your Will
I submit to your great Purpose with all my unknowing –
And I do so with faith and with gratitude.
I willingly accept the transforming power of Love in my life
And I pledge myself to use this Love consciously.
I ask you to help me empty myself of my lacks, my hurts, my pains, my grievances and my pettiness…
And I ask you to help me fill myself with your most healing Love.
Give me the wisdom to care, dear God!
Give me the insight to share, dear Spirit!
Give me the strength to fear nothing and no-one.
I take your hand and surrender myself without conditions, demands or hidden intentions.
Direct my footsteps, guide my every action to the everlasting delight of Divine Being….
I give myself into Your Care and Use.
Amen!
Try it once a day.
Every day for just 100 days.
Prayer will not instantly change your life – but prayer will change the way you handle life.
And that change will change you!
