Dear Friends,
Do you think that the humble caterpillar ever sees itself as a butterfly?
(There it is wandering along the branch of a shrub singing to itself “Me oh my! Soon I’ll be a butterfly!”……).
No.
It simply focuses on being what it is right now.
And that is a caterpillar.
Not a caterpillar that has to make its garden “great again” or one that yearns to wear a caterpillar crown or manage the caterpillar corporation or even start the caterpillar Party…..or breed the finest caterpillars in the whole of the Commonwealth of Caterpillaria……
Humble as it is, that caterpillar focuses on being what it is: a caterpillar.
Because being a humble caterpillar is also an amazing wonder of creation…..
And one day, without fail, without having to have been “very good” or “holy” or somehow seemingly “better” than other caterpillars it will turn into a beautiful butterfly.
That’s pretty much a guarantee.
It’s just like with you and I.
We may “seem” to be just ordinary common garden variety “humans” but, just like the caterpillar, there is far more to us!!
Caterpillars are restricted to sixteen legs: we’re restricted to just two.
But after caterpillars “die” they take to flight as beautiful butterflies in what looks (to them) like a somewhat different universe altogether…..
And they do so without any inquisition or judgement day.
It’s called nature.
And nature is simply the creative expression of the Divine.
After you and I “die” we do the same.
Nature (God) has kindly shown us in advance what to expect!!
So if you are approaching the time of life’s seeming closure (or have recently “lost” a loved one) or know of someone who has lately passed over (that is, entered their creative cocoon) take heart!
Prepare yourself for wings of Love!
They’re coming!!
And maybe, just maybe, after you’ve acclimatised to your wings of Love your next trip might be a return to Planet Earth to help other humans prepare for their next metamorphosis!!
So practice now – whilst you can – being an ordinary, loving human being.
You don’t have to make yourself special in any way (because you’re already truly special anyway just as you are): TAKE CAREFUL NOTE OF THAT.
All that is asked of you – caterpillar or human – is to simply be the best you can with what you have, where you are….now.
That’s all God ever asks of you!
Be the best you can with what you have, where you are…..now.
That’s not so hard is it?!
