We all know that solitude and introspection is a highly sought after state of being.
We undertake silent retreats, ‘go within’ to access deep levels of emotional peace and use alone-time to mentally resolve many troubling aspects of our busy and often confusing lives…..
One-ness is always easier when we are alone and quiet and simply ‘at one with the Greater One’……
But there is another side to this coin.
And that is ‘community’.
Real community is that state of recognising the divine within the other.
Real community is genuine respect for the other, irregardless of race, skin colour, age, ancestry, financial status, religion, political persuasion, address, job, pastimes, gender or looks.
We come to realise that we are all equal members of God’s family; and in that understanding our hearts will open wide and we will offer friendship to all our brothers and sisters.
This simple recognition changes everything for us: as one subscriber wrote:
“Imagine.. If we all gave and received in absolute flow ( body, mind, spirit) where the needs of ourselves and others were a dance of divine exchange.
Our own gifts, swapped instead of sold.
No more putting prices on our time and talents. A beautiful bartering.
No exchange of money, just the frequency of giving,….imagine….. the peaceful flow of gratitude where giving and receiving is One, as we are all One”.
Without community it is One’s Self battling against the world.
Life is a constant struggle until we retire from the fray.
But in community, the success of others brings joy, the kindness of others brings true gratitude, the help of others bring deep appreciation – and we are all enriched by this respectful embrace of our fellow ‘beings’ in this wondrous spirit-enriched family of Humankind.
Our own ‘Community Of The Heart’ is but one small branch of this extraordinary Family of Spiritual Beings.
