I met a lady many years ago who, unknown to me, badly needed money.
She placed a table outside her yard and displayed a great number of books for sale at bargain prices.
Books are a passion of mine so I eagerly viewed her collection and bought several. Then a neighbour told me of her ‘money worries’ so I went back and bought more – this time quietly paying significantly more than the “advertised” price…..
One of my close friends accompanied me; and commented on the ‘foolishness’ of paying more than had been asked for.
I explained that I did so as an act of spiritual blessing……
Blessing can be understood as a spiritual way to share the goodness of the Divine.
And we can all do it – everyday in endless ways!
Not everyone does this: money is a good example.
You and I know some people who willingly flash their money around in a needless “shout”; or buy the most expensive item in a range to attempt to enhance their self-worth; or when dining out publicly leave a substantial tip to impress others at the table……
There’s a thousand ways to be wasteful with money and none of them involve enhancing one’s wonderful powers of spiritual blessings.
I charge nothing for a consultation.
Some people say I’m an idiot; others think I’m a fool; others assume I’m rich.
I’m none of these things.
I’m LOVE (as best I can be in each moment!!)
That’s how I was made.
Exactly the same as you.
(And like you I slip up sometimes and sometimes very often, too).
But I honour that understanding, wherever possible, whenever I can.
I honour it with spiritual blessings……both via money and other ways of giving.
For example, I spend well over 15 hours every week writing these free columns and answering every email I lovingly receive.
As a community I realize we should all share our blessings with one another more.
So – for starters – please drop me a line to let me know what you do to express your own spiritual blessings without specific (or maybe even any) price tags…….
Maybe even share how you might be able to s-t-r-e-t-c-h those blessings even further over the next six months – be it via time/money/listening/caring/sharing/helping…..
Together we can all work together to make “our community” a blessing to those we meet and assuredly most pleasing to the Mind of God.
